Soma Pilates Remote Options Available Starting Monday

I have been working hard all week trying to work out the details on how to offer private sessions and group sessions remotely so that everyone can continue to have access to Pilates until we can reopen the studio. The best solution I could find was using Zoom video conferencing to offer online sessions. This will allow Soma Pilates clients to use their computer, phone, or tablet to take part in interactive private sessions or group sessions. While I have already completed several test sessions please bare with me as this is new to everyone and may need a couple of kinks ironed out. Next week will function as a test week with Janet offering all online sessions. If demand is sufficient we will look into adding additional instructors as needed in the following weeks.
Group Sessions

We are going to start small with group sessions by offering 3 sessions next week at the following times:

Monday March 23 10am-11:30am
Wednesday March 25 10am-11:30am
Friday March 27 11am-12:30pm

We are allotting 1.5 hours so we have some time for working out technology issues before we start moving and to get some much needed social interaction outside of our immediate families before and after the session. The session itself should last our standard 55 minutes. For those of you who are working from home and don’t have extra time to spare, plan to start 15 minutes after published start time and finish 15 minutes early. E.g. Mondays class should start exercising at 10:15 and be done exercising by 11:10.

Depending on interest we will add additional sessions as needed. If those times don’t work or you would prefer different times just let Janet know and she will do her best to accommodate.

To sign up for group sessions go to our website and click on the class calendar button. I have made it possible to sign up for the class without prepaying to allow payment flexibly. If you would like to pay using your already purchased small group training sessions you may do so. We have also created a new remote group pilates session that is $25 for a single session or $100 for 4 sessions that you can use to pay for the class. We really appreciate your support during these difficult times. Similarly we also understand that some of you may have had your jobs affected by all the recent mandatory business closings and to you we offer the option of attending the class for whatever amount you wish to pay. After the class ends I will send out an email for people to choose their payment preference.

After signing up you will receive an email 15 minutes before your scheduled group session with a link to the meeting. You’ll just want to click on the link to join. Super easy! If you arrive early before your trainer, you’ll just be prompted to wait until the host starts the meeting. Just hang tight. 
Make sure to have a mat or towel and if you have any props at home (theraband, roller, pinky balls, etc) keep those handy as we might have you utilize them. Props are not necessary. 

Remote Private Sessions

Remote private sessions will also be offered via zoom. We are again allotting 1.5 hours so we have some time for working out technology issues before we start moving and to get some much needed social interaction outside of our immediate families before and after the session. The movement portion of the session itself should last our standard 55 minutes.

For next week we are requesting people to schedule remote privates with Janet by either emailing her or calling/texting her cell at 425-591-7388. Janet will then add the session to mindbodyonline and send you an email with a link to the meeting. Currently if you attempt to schedule via the regular process online you will find no availability as we are trying to avoid confusion or inadvertently suggesting that we are available for in studio sessions. Please call, text, or email instead.

We also have options for payment for remote private sessions. If you would like to pay using your already purchased private sessions you may do so. We have also created a new remote private Pilates session that is $60 for a single session or $300 for 5 sessions.

Preparing for Remote Sessions

Whether you are doing a private or group session you will need to get set up with Zoom before your session begins by doing the following:

On a Computer Please visit https://zoom.us/ and select “Sign Up, It’s Free”, enter your information in the necessary fields.  You will receive an email to activate your account. Select Activate Account on the email and create your password for the account. 

For a Mobile Device (ie. iPad, Tablet, iPhone) Visit the app store and download the ZOOM Cloud Meetings App Once the app has downloaded, select SIGN UP and follow the prompts to create your account.  You will receive an email to Activate your account. Select Activate Account on the email and create your password for the account.

If you would like to do a test run before your official session just let me know and I am happy to set it up.
