Pilates exercises are designed to develop longer, leaner muscles, establish core strength and stability, and heighten mind-body awareness. Pilates is for all fitness levels, all ages and body types, and all physical strengths and limitations. Pilates was founded by Joseph H. Pilates based on his work during WWI with fellow camp internees, and progressed to opening the first Pilates studio in New York City.
